Things to fold

It's important to me to have a home where I can have guests over. It doesn't necessarily have to be perfect. I simply don't want to feel embarrassed if someone drops by unexpected. When I entertain I do tend to try for perfection. Sometimes the small things can make a room extra special.

Since I've been put on bed rest, I've had time to look at random things. One afternoon I looked at various books on Amazon. Some really caught my attention and others I literally had to laugh out loud!

You might agree with me that using actual linen napkins can make a meal different and special. This napkin folding book was a fun find at the library (online hold and picked up by my sweet husband since I can't). There are even folds used by past Presidents and English Monarchs. I'm sure that I will find some fold to use with my own family. Of course, this probably won't happen until after the baby arrives.

The next book made me smile. We have all seen the towel origami in luxury hotels and cruise ships. How would it be to go out of town and stay with friends to find a fun creature sitting on your bed? It may be a little over the top but certainly could be a fun project for a child.

So now your guests come over and you have a beautiful place setting with your new folded napkins and they were all greeted by a towel elephant in their room, but shouldn't there be something special in the bathroom?

This book seriously made me laugh! What a silly thing to do, but I guess if you were trying to one up Martha, you would do this. Toilet Paper folding, making sure your guests have something "special" to use. I would love to check out this book just for the fun of it. But don't expect to find a fancy fold when you visit my house!

What do you fold, besides laundry?

I love doing different napkin folds. I only know about three, so I need to check out a book like the one you have featured. I have a book from Carnival cruise lines on towel folding and I love to do it for kids that are guests in my home!

I am totally with you on making guests feel welcome and at home. I have always made an effort to have comfortable bedding, closet space and hangers, several available dresser drawers, towels, extra pillows and blankets and even reading materials in the guest room. I would hate to think that someone was uncomfortable in my home!

I love the phrase 'folding money'. It's only rivalled by 'walking abaht money' - very Sarf London.

The other thing I love folding is five lovely little fingers into my hand.

I fold nothing. Usually that includes laundry. ;)
