Now that the endless weeks of rain have finally ceased and summer has fallen upon us, we finally have been able to enjoy our fabulous backyard. The children have really enjoyed spending our mornings romping around, exploring and simply being kids.
Trying to pack up 4 daycare children and my sweet Livy, it is no easy task to get outside. Too often once outside I realized that I forgot the sunblock, or Livy has fallen and scraped her knee (again) and I have nothing to take care of it. So that I don't have to get all of the children back inside for forgotten items, I came up with an outside kit.
It is a simple white plastic box that I have had laying around. I would like to find a vintage tin to put everything in, but this will do until then. Inside I have several different items including sunscreen, band aids (different sizes including special Hello Kitty ones), neosporian, cleansing clothes, plastic grocery bags and gloves (perfect for doing a poop detail on the lawn or putting wet clothes, bloody bandages, etc).
You could also put a spare hat, lip balm (if it is in a shady location and won't melt), and anything else that you might need in your kit. This kit will hang in a convenient location under my covered patio.

Great idea. I need something like that for my car.
What a smart mom!
And you're always prepared. Good one!
I'm going to throw in a diaper and wipes and keep one in my car. Thanks for the tip!

Sounds practical- what a palaver - it's great you're so organised with all those kids! x M
That's a great idea! I should make one. :) With six kids, I know it will come in handy.
